Valentine’s Day Recipes … a bit of French History and Madame De Montespan

Hey Everyone!!

Tomorrow we celebrate Valentine’s Day … truthfully speaking I don’t celebrate it as much as other holidays but I guess it’s a good excuse to get together and remind couples of their love and passion 😉 Sometimes it’s hard, especially if you have been married for a while, one tends to forget about it all, the passion, the excitement and all that comes with starting a new fresh relationship!

My beautiful children reminded me once again of the excitement of life and the freshness with which they view everything that comes their way. This is my daughter Ellie’s valentines card to me … It’s fascinating how much love children are capable of giving to you and life.

Now, let’s get back to the subject of this post … Madame De Montespan. She was a great woman, a french aristocrat in the 16th century. She is said to have been extremely beautiful and witty and to have a had a strong passion for cooking. In those times nobles and royals didn’t need to know how to cook so it was a rarity. She’s also been involved in witchcraft and deadly poisons, although never convicted of it herself.

She had a fervid passion for creating potions, elixirs and aphrodisiac foods. She is still most notably known as King Louis XIV’s mistress with whom she had 7 children. She was such a strong presence at Court and acknowledged for what she was, that she managed to get them all officially recognised by the King with all the titles and benefits that come with it.

This week’s recipe is special and one of the originals of Madame De Montespan. Here’s the video for you, Happy Valentine’s Day!

Coco Chanel

Ciao Peeps!

As some of you might know I am a very big Fan of Coco Chanel. She inspires me as a woman who revolutionised fashion and gave a new position of power to women in society.

At the beginning of the 20th Century women were only allowed very uncomfortable dresses and corsets and no one dared to change that but Chanel! She gave a new meaning to freedom of expression for women while maintaining great classic style using simple yet wonderful fabrics.

What an amazing and determined business woman. She made it from nothing, orphan at a young age she had great ambitions and she persisted, her name is still one of the most powerful and revered in the fashion and beauty industries.

Victoria’s Secret … my new favourite :)

Ciao Peeps,

I grew up in Italy and never knew of the existence of Victoria’s Secret over there. I believe a couple have popped up just recently but otherwise I had never heard of it until I came to the UK.

Just last week I went to the PINK by VS store here in the South of England and I loved it!! I spent way to much but it was so worth it. I just loved EVERYTHING. The layout, the staff, the colours and vast variety of underwear.

Victoria’s Secret just made another huge fan! I have always been fond of animal prints and finally I found a pair of legging with the perfect leopard print. The colours and material are of just right. I even got a matching backpack 🙂

Check out the maxi lips IPhone cover …. stunning in Neon. I just love everything about it.

Here’s the link to the VS PINK line:

Let me know if you are also a Victoria’s Secret Fan!

I am thinking of buying a little FIAT 500 after this …

Good morning Peeps 🙂

Today is another beautiful day in grey England … I don’t want to get used to it because I know it’s not going to last!

Check out the view from my window, birds are tweeting and I have got a hot espresso by my side.

Moving along, I was navigating the cyberspace the other day and came across this amazing FIAT 500 ad, apparently produced in the USA, I thought it was hilarious!!! I must say … Fiat’s marketing department is doing a pretty good job of launching this cute little car, it makes me want to buy one, just because the ad is sooo cool.

Kissing Strangers – How Do You feel About It?

Morning! I just opened up my facebook page and saw this on my feed ….. Well needless to say I opened it and got inspired. Love is a beautiful thing and sometimes I forget what it feels like … I am not sure if I am alone on this one but being married for a while, makes me forget that buzz. Did I loose it? Is there anyway to get it back? I feel a little nostalgic about it. If feels so good, do you remember it? The first kiss, the first few weeks with someone you love. Everything is brighter, everyone is wonderful, you feel on top of the world, all your senses are enhanced and all the problems in the world seem to have disappeared. It a euphoric state and I am not ashamed to say that I miss it …. Pleaaaaaase come back to me, Nadia in Love where have you gone?

ENJOY it… May the love be with you.
PS: I am going to talk about it with my husband and see what we can do about this 🙂

Follow up post … Tonino Carotone vs Mannarino

Ciao Peeps,

I am in tears, honestly you’ve got to watch this. WHO is he??? How did he end up in the suggested videos right after my wonderful moment with Alessandro Mannarino? I have to say, this song is catchy I just don’t get the Italian name with the spanish twist to it. Go Tonino, love your rasta hairstyle. Tonino, IF you read this explain yourself in the comments down below. I do love you as a human being though.

Do you see what I am seeing?
